November 21, 2008 - Jiminy
I got an email from Jiminy Peak today:
Opening Day '08/'09!
Tomorrow is opening day 08/'09! Here is a message from Brian this morning:
The mountain is in a cloud from snowmaking. Since Monday night we have converted 18 million gallons of water into snow. We will open Saturday morning at 9am with 3 chairs, 12 slopes and almost 4 miles of terrain. What is incredible is the base is 1-3 feet. In my 39 years here, I have never seen so much snow made in such a short time. The mountain is in fabulous shape. Brian
The 12 trails open include West Way, Grand Slam, North Glade, Lower Glade, Upper Slingshot, Lower Slingshot, Upper Fox, Lower Fox, Raccoon's Den, 360, 180, Cricket for 3.5 miles and 66.4 acres of terrain! 3 lifts including the Berkshire Express, Novice Triple and Cricket Triple will be in operation. Base depths are 18-36 inches.
Operating hours are 9 am 4 pm Saturday and Sunday. Lift tickets are $44 for adults and $34 for teens, juniors and seniors. $29 E-Coupons for Saturday and Sunday are available at jiminypeak.com. All 2008/2009 Jiminy Peak season pass types will be honored.
Be sure to call our snow phone at 888-4-JIMINY or check the snow report at jiminypeak.com for updated snow condition information.
See you tomorrow!

Wax 'em, tip 'em, rip 'em! October 22, 2008 - Fall Site Rollout
Well I got married on October 11th! Hence I have been spending absolutely no time on the site. I basically have not hiked at all this summer. Although this disappoints me, the payoff of a nice wedding with few to no glitches was awesome! We did most of the work ourselves.
The location the ceremony and reception took place was the Jiminy Peak Ski/Mountain Resort in Hancock, MA. I have skiid there a few times and I can tell you that the friendly, helpful atmosphere I encountered in the winter was still present in the summer. They were absolutely awesome to work with and nothing at all went wrong!
Jiminy Peak offers summertime activity including chairlift rides, mountain biking, hiking, alpine slides, mountain coasters, rock walls, bungee chair things, and much more!
Mount Snow open??
EH? Mt. Snow is open. Yes. They are blowing snow on the terrain park at night. Want to get a few runs in? Hike up, no lift is open here! But still...with slushy snow in the higher elevations of MA last night I have to ask myself...what will this winter bring??? SNOW I hope! |
